IRS extends ACA reporting deadline for employers

The Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for 2015 Affordable Care Act (ACA) information reporting from Feb. 1, 2016 to March 31, 2016. In Notice 2016-4, the IRS extended the deadlines for both furnishing reporting forms to individuals and filing them with the IRS. Read more at EBN.

President Obama Signs Omnibus Bill Delaying “Cadillac Tax”

The 40 percent excise tax on high-cost health plans has been delayed two years. On Dec. 18, 2015, President Obama signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016, which includes a two-year delay of the Affordable Care Act’s "Cadillac Tax" and a one-year reauthorization of the E-Verify program.
