Clients have say in shaping Enterprise Reporting offering

In line with Ceridian's practice of listening to its customers, we've received tremendous customer input and feedback about our Business Intelligence solution. Hundreds of Ceridian customers are already seeing the benefits of Business Intelligence.

"Now that organizations are getting access to much of their HR/Payroll data through Business Intelligence, they are streamlining the processes and saving the time they've spent in the past in creating reports. This allows customers to spend more time using their data to make better decisions. Some of the feedback we've heard is that they love being able to easily get at their payroll information across multiple PSIDs or across pay periods. And the most common feedback is that Ad Hoc Reporting is easy to use," says Jan Cotroneo, director InView product marketing for Ceridian.

"Ceridian's Business Intelligence solution helps our customers understand what the real business issues are," explains Cotroneo. "We're currently talking to customers about their need to look at human capital measures. What we're finding is they can not just look at one measure."

An example of the power of Business Intelligence

Looking at an organization's overall turnover measure may show a very low turnover. Drilling further to determine turnover for specific areas of the company or analyzing performance ratings can tell a different story. Clients want to know:

  • Are they losing talent in one area? If so, what's the real business issue?
  • Do they have a poor manager or are employees working excessive shifts creating burnout?
  • Are they losing their top performers?
  • Are they using the right plans to train, promote and retain their key talent?

"Time and time again, we're hearing from many companies why it's important to look at multiple metrics to better understand business issues," says Cotroneo.

Log on and learn

In 2011, a new Business Intelligence User Group Forum for existing Business Intelligence customers was rolled out. The user group includes monthly webinars or newsletters to share additional best practices, tips and tricks. Information is targeted at different levels of users -- from beginners up to more advanced power users. Customers using the solution also are connecting through social media via a LinkedIn user group to share tips and discuss best practices.

"Exposure to all of a company's data helps a client answer meaningful business questions, not just run reports." adds Trent Seashore, director, Enterprise BI Strategy, InView product management. "This business solution exposes opportunities and provides a dynamic way to realize and understand the power of an organization's information, which helps users gain business intelligence from the data in order to make better strategic decisions."

Customers are looking forward to the HR Data Set being rolled out throughout the summer, with beta customers currently testing the solution.
