Ceridian Dayforce solution delivers the best of both worlds: Proven service and industry-leading technology

Through Customer Advisory Boards, user group meetings and ongoing dialog with more than 500 customers in one-on-one discussions, the Ceridian executive team has been listening and executing on customer feedback. Customers have asked Ceridian to integrate products and services, provide data, reports and information and enhance products to adapt as customers' needs change.

"Customer input is what created the initiative and it continues to be the way we are designing and building the system," says John Schmitz, Ceridian's senior vice president, product management. "The internal subject matter experts and the customer champions are paramount in advising the product owners in building a world-class system. As we understand what jobs the customers are trying to accomplish and leverage the expertise of our employees, we are creating an intuitive, integrated and highly effective product that will be a game changer for the business."

For example, when it comes to employee transfers, Ceridian's quality team has documented some 30 to 40 steps that must be taken in the right order with the right timing to successfully transfer an employee. That becomes a mere few steps in a guided process with Dayforce Workforce Management. Local jurisdiction taxation also is simplified with Ceridian's ability to call a real-time Web service while Ceridian runs gross-to-net calculations to retrieve the local jurisdictional tax rates. Customers no longer need to maintain tax codes -- they just update the home and work addresses of an employee and Ceridian does the rest. Not only that, but the Trial Payroll features of Dayforce Workforce Management saves time and drives greater accuracy for customers by bringing the reasonability analysis and exception management into an intuitive view for customers preparing a payroll run.

Everything in its place
The first few releases of Ceridian Dayforce Workforce Management 2010 -- the first adopter release is scheduled for April -- will bring all the components of an HR management system (HRMS) and a payroll platform together: HR/Payroll Web or Latitude, Trial Payroll, Self-Service, See My W-2, Enterprise Reporting, Ceridian Service Assistant. No matter what a customer's role is, everything they have access to will be in one place and all in view.

"Ceridian will drive significant value for everyone in our customers' organization. It will provide guided processes for employees and managers to find answers quickly and take care of urgent tasks," explains Schmitz. "Administrators will have industry-leading tools to streamline processes, implement industry best-practices and analyze data. Executives will be able to utilize performance indicators and dashboards to identify strategic opportunities for their companies."

Over the next two years, Ceridian will continue a "launch and learn" approach by integrating Time, Health and Welfare, Tax, Pay Cards, COBRA, Recruiting, Employee Assistance Programs, Tuition Reimbursement, Performance Management, Training and products from all of our businesses into the Ceridian's solution.

"While competitors are trying to bring their disparate systems together with a single sign on, we are an HR/payroll service provider that has all our products in one system," adds Schmitz. "We couldn't be more excited about providing our customers the control of an in-house solution with all of the advantages of an award-winning service provider to back it up."
