One of the largest athletics retailers in the country, Hibbett has earned a reputation of excellence based largely on the way it rewards its employees for their in-store efforts. Unsurprisingly, though, this dedication to incentive-based rewards made the retailer's job much more difficult. Instead of simple, hour-based payroll, managers had to create, define and track complex incentive programs.

"At the end of each month, we had to show whether each store made its goal," said Cathy Pryor, the chain's senior VP of store operations. "Extensive validation and accuracy auditing of sales and labor goals took time [typically one week]. The incentive payout process on the back end also took one week, which is entirely too long. We needed a tool that could quickly and efficiently generate the inventive pay by individual based on eligibility rules."

To accomplish this goal, Pryor chose to partner with Ceridian and utilize its Dayforce WFM solution. Doing this allowed Pryor and Hibbett to ditch the inefficient spreadsheet-based process it had been using in favor of a much more comprehensive, intuitive solution. The new cloud-hosted system helped Hibbett better track payroll services, employee hours, talent management, worker performance and more.

With the new system in place, Hibbett is able to properly reward its stellar team members and continually improve its operations.
