Ceridian INSIGHTS Conference: Compliance Priorities 2015

Thu Jul 9, 2015

At next week’s Ceridian INSIGHTS Conference in Las Vegas I’ll be presenting Compliance Priorities 2015: Congress Pushes for Change, covering major employer compliance issues affecting HR, Payroll, Benefits and Compensation.

  • Under the heading of “Income Inequality,” which could be the #1 issue in the 2016 presidential campaign, we’ll discuss the latest proposals to boost the minimum wage, double the overtime salary threshold and mandate paid sick leave, sure to impact your scheduling, compensation and leave policies.
  • We’ll update you on Affordable Care Act compliance, outlining the employer “play or pay” mandate, health coverage information reporting and the 2018 Cadillac Tax on high-value health plans.
  • Also on our agenda will be legislation to reform immigration laws to create a path to citizenship for many of the nation’s 11 million undocumented immigrants. We’ll address the outlook for President Obama’s 2014 executive order granting temporary legal status and work permits to some 5 million immigrants.
  • Finally, we’ll discuss Social Security restructuring to strengthen its longer term finances. Social Security trustees say the program is running a cash flow deficit and requires reduced benefits and greater payroll tax revenues. We’ll consider proposals to slow benefits growth as well as raise additional tax revenue to ensure program solvency for future generations.

To get ahead of the curve on what’s happening in Washington DC on the top employer compliance issues for 2015 and beyond, you won’t want to miss Compliance Priorities 2015: Congress Pushes for Change.
