EaglePicher™ manages a portfolio of advanced technology manufacturing companies with a diverse range of products. Known for bringing innovations to market, the company's applications include defense; space and implantable medical device batteries; automotive noise, vibration and handling components; patented coated metal coils and stamped parts; wine, beer and pool filtration. For more than six years, the company used an in-house solution for HR, benefits and payroll that was supplemented by Ceridian's tax service and numerous in-house processes and customizations.

The Challenge

EaglePicher anticipated mergers, acquisitions and possible divestiture transactions. They needed a "one-stop" shop that offered a system and responsive service to readily facilitate quick turnaround transactions. The company wanted a fully supported, hosted and integrated HRIS/Payroll/Benefits solution that included robust reporting and the capability to outsource noncore routine tasks, such as check printing and payroll bank account reconciliations. They also were looking for a partner that could improve the levels of service beyond their current experience - including the ability to provide quality training.

The Solution

"We reduced our payroll administrative head count by two through the implementation of processes such as Employee Self-Service and the outsourcing of nonvalue added tasks -- in addition to one reduction in our IT staff.
