Best Practices: Personal time off: Simplify the benefit, reduce the cost, increase productivity

At Ceridian, we offer our clients business process expertise and knowledge of human resources best practices as a part of every service and solution we provide, every day. We also apply this knowledge to our own organization to boost employee satisfaction, enhance productivity and drive measurable bottom-line results. We recently reviewed our personal time off (PTO) programs to look for areas for improvement.

This best practices case study describes the review process, the change options discovered and the results achieved. As a result of the PTO review, Ceridian implement significant changes that reduced costs and dramatically increased productivity, while continuing to offer a competitive benefit that meets employee expectations. Similar efforts around other employee programs -- combined with the PTO review -- have driven $170 million in year-over-year expenses out of Ceridian's business.
