Weight Management

Two-thirds of American adults are overweight and of these, one-third are obese. With weight on the rise, 29 percent of employees are obese. Medical costs for these obese employees are 77 percent higher than for their health-weight co-workers.

Weight management is just one component of a healthy lifestyle. For many, weight management is an ongoing, life-long struggle. Ceridian Weight Management offers a non-diet approach to weight management with a focus on multiple lifestyle behaviors including nutrition habits, exercise, and cognitive behavioral practices.

The emphasis of Ceridian Weight Management is on long-term, personalized support contributing to its overwhelming success in Fortune 500 companies and leading managed care organizations throughout the country. Our program was developed in concert with the ADA's (American Dietetic Association) Position Statement and the NHLBI (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute) guidelines which identifies best practices in weight management treatment.
The Ceridian Weight Management program uses proven behavioral theory to tailor the treatment to the individual's readiness and ability to change target behaviors.

How We Measure Success
More than half of Ceridian Weight Management participants achieve positive lifestyle changes and improvement in Body Mass Index (BMI), which translates directly into healthcare cost savings and decreased absenteeism. Over one third of participants achieve the goal of 5-10 percent weight loss after one year. Our unique ability to fit the person with the right program format saves money by using the lowest cost option that will generate the best long-term impact.
