The taboo of office romance: Should HR be concerned?

But while the general climate is warming up to romance in the workplace, many of the concerns are becoming more complicated for employers and HR.

Workplace discrimination can come in many different forms, but one thing is constant - its repercussions can chip away at your company's success. In a 2005 Gallup poll, almost one in six U.S. employees claimed they were discriminated against at work last year. Workplace discrimination remains a serious issue that needs to be proactively handled by HR professionals.

Working productively: Dealing with verbal abuse

We can occasionally use words in a way that hurt someone. But some people repeatedly hurt others with their words and seem to do it deliberately. People who verbally abuse others put their jobs and relationships at risk. It's important that this problem is promptly addressed when it is witnessed at work.
