A site to see: LifeWorks employer pilot site boosts
EAP communication

Ceridian LifeWorks products are becoming more effective than ever with our convenient, new communication tool -- the recently piloted LifeWorks employer Web site. Launched in early September, the new tool, an e-marketing site, encourages ongoing promotion of the LifeWorks program and increases awareness of the communication resources available to our customers. The site houses all communications for the LifeWorks program -- electronic and printed -- in one convenient place. In addition, samples of introductory materials, supplemental promotions, tips on creating an effective communications strategy and a calendar of events are also available on the site.

The new tool is being piloted with customers who indicated through Ceridian's online surveys that they would like to participate in the development of new communications. Customers participating in the pilot received an invitation requesting them to view and provide feedback on the site. They also received an e-mail introducing the site, which included a link to a "splash page" spotlighting an incentive-based survey to obtain a baseline measurement of the site and to generate ideas for future enhancements.

"We've often heard from customers, through both formal and informal channels, that having our communications available to service their employees without a large amount of administrative burden would be incredibly helpful," said Meg Tunnicliffe, Ceridian end-user communications manager. "We also know from the attendance at our customer workshops on creating an effective communications strategy that customers often have questions on promotional best practices and that brokers appreciate having a one-stop shop. This new site will help keep the LifeWorks program and all of the available communications top-of-mind and build a sense of community with our customers."

LifeWorks is what you make it
One of the most important aspects of an employee assistance program is increasing your employees' awareness of the program so they can benefit from it and use it effectively. With the help of our new Web resource, Ceridian can assist you in building a complete communications plan from the ground up. Pilot site users simply log on to the site to find communications resources available as part of our comprehensive tool kit, which include:

  • E-mail announcements
  • Electronic flyers
  • General promotions
  • Voice mail messages
  • Newsletter articles
  • Employee letters
  • Handbook text
  • Manager memos
  • Online orientation

Each item can be customized, allowing organizations to create communication pieces that meet their needs. And Ceridian ensures that every communication about the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is applied across all media channels to promote a consistent look, tone and brand. Ceridian has also developed guidelines for promoting the program brand so that all communications are conveyed from a common point of view.

Test of time
Ceridian is currently working with more than 100 customers to test the LifeWorks employer pilot site. "We have a good cross-section of all of our customers participating," said Tunnicliffe. "We're piloting the site because we want to be sure it's a tool that customers will truly use and that it contains the information they really want."

Growth to the site will be determined by customer feedback. Ceridian hopes to expand it in the future to include a blog or message board, additional promotional tools, such as a monthly promotion tied to individual LifeWorks products, and links to other Ceridian Web sites. Ceridian will monitor the site to develop more solutions and communications as well as news and tips on how to promote an EAP benefit to employees.
