New partnership to provide Lawson Payroll users with a direct interface with tax service offerings from Ceridian

ST. PAUL, Minn., May 15, 2007 - Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced a new partnership with Ceridian, a leader in managed human resource outsourcing solutions, to provide a tax filing interface for Lawson customers using Lawson Payroll. Under the agreement, Lawson will manage the interface between Lawson Payroll and Ceridian's tax service, which will help simplify the management of complex tax issues associated with an organization's payroll operations.

The interface between Lawson and Ceridian provides a more efficient and accurate means to compile and file monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns. Since the interface is designed to function specifically with the Lawson Payroll solution, there is no need for customized programming.

This interface was designed to more efficiently manage the complexities associated with managing tax issues in payroll, with support for federal, state and local requirements. It also supports periodic, quarterly and annual tax filing as well as self-serve employee W-2 printing and wage attachment disbursement. The interface also helps simplify processes for depositing tax funds on time using the proper deposit methods, responding to tax agency inquiries and transferring funds to automatically pay tax bills.

"Our customers face an increasingly complex set of challenges associated with managing the tax issues for their employees," said Jim Catalino, vice president of business development for Lawson. "This service allows them to keep current with the constant changes is tax regulations from the local level up to the federal level."

Lawson has approximately 60 customers already taking advantage of the interface with Ceridian Tax Services. Among them is Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. "We are very excited about this new partnership and it is a testament of Lawson and Ceridian's commitment to their customers," said Jeffrey Archer, director of payroll for Lutheran Medical Center. "Our organization has already benefited from this solution, saving time and valuable resources from managing our payroll tax filings."

The Ceridian Payroll Data Exchange interface also gives a Lawson customer greater control through useful data manager screens. With these screens, a payroll manager has greater control of the release of data transmissions and the ability to review employee tax history, adjust employee information and simplify end-of-quarter balancing.

"The implications of errors associated with filing employment taxes are a significant concern for companies today," said Web Hill, vice president of tax services for Ceridian. "By offering greater controls over these processes, we are helping our customers file timely and accurately to reduce their exposure to penalties, interest and even tax liens due to noncompliance or late or inaccurate tax filings."

The Lawson-Ceridian interface is also designed for security, with strong data encryption, File Transmission Protocol (FTP) standards and disaster recovery capabilities.
This service is an extension of Lawson's application management services. Through Lawson Professional Services, Lawson offers a full complement of consulting and application management services, including Lawson Total Care Gold.
