Customer feedback drives Ceridian's delivery of Enterprise Reporting solution

From the October 2009 issue of Ceridian Connection.

When Ceridian Chairman and CEO Kathy Marinello says that Ceridian is a company run by its customers -- she means it. Through Customer Advisory Boards, user group meetings, and ongoing dialog with more than 500 customers in one-on-one discussions, the Ceridian executive team has been listening and executing on customer feedback. One customer comment rang clear regardless of location, company size or industry, "Give me my data, reports and information."

Follow-up conversations confirmed that customers would like an easier reporting tool, giving them access to their information and data without requiring technical staff. Customers would also like access to their baseline information, unrestricted by format, as soon as possible after a payroll has processed. And so the Ceridian Enterprise Reporting initiative began.

Enterprise Reporting is being released in three phases to provide immediate functionality while ensuring larger objectives are met. The first release is available now and saves customers time by providing payroll reports as PDFs, one hour after a payroll run is complete. A second release, scheduled for early 2010, will deliver even easier access to data using pre-delivered templates that can be modified and an ad hoc reporting tool allowing new reports to be created from scratch. The third release of Enterprise Reporting will provide valuable insight by sharing industry-leading metrics with the customer's data, allowing customers to make educated, strategic business decisions.

Benefits of Enterprise Reporting
With the first release of Enterprise Reporting, customers are already saving time, cutting costs and "going green" by using less paper to print reports.
  • Instead of waiting until the next day for delivery of paper reports, customers are receiving their payroll information within one hour after their payroll run is complete.

  • Since Ceridian customer service analysts also have access to payroll information, Enterprise Reporting customers are enjoying faster resolution of service calls.

  • Customers will find year-end processes simplified because they have earlier access to data.

  • Customers can drastically reduce their paper usage and save on shipping and storage costs because they can print selected pages of reports if needed, or simply rely on the online versions.

The Future of Enterprise Reporting
The next release of Enterprise Reporting will include the powerful ad hoc reporting capabilities and predelivered templates. Customers will be able to easily modify or add information to existing payroll, HR and benefits reports. Customers will be able to export the report in multiple formats including Excel, PDF and CSV and to save new and modified reports.

In the third release of Enterprise Reporting, performance indicators will include dashboards with metrics. This capability will help a customer understand their data by viewing HR and payroll industry-leading performance indicators, such as trending over time or headcount analysis. It will also include exception metrics allowing customers to shift their operations of reacting to day-to-day questions and focus proactively on strategy.

"Enterprise Reporting is such a great investment Ceridian is making for our customers," states Jan Cotroneo, product manager. "It's all driven by what our customers asked for: access to data, reports and information."
