Ceridian Releases Results of 2006 National Paycheck Survey

March 30, 2006

For a number of different reasons, U.S. workers have the potential in a given month to get an "extra" paycheck:
  • Employers paying their employees bi-weekly will likely see this happen twice a year - typically in months other than February where (in most years) there are only 28 days.
  • A promotion from an hourly position to a management position is a trigger.
  • If a company gets acquired and moves the employees at the combined organization to a different payroll schedule.
  • And, of course, bonuses and other rewards and recognition events can bring an extra check.
Ceridian, which pays employees at thousands of companies in the U.S., Canada and Europe and also operates one of the largest Employee Assistance Programs in the U.S., conducted a national survey to better understand personal finance choices people make when they get an extra paycheck.
